Choir
Welcome to the South High Vocal Music Program!
South High is proud to offer seven unique vocal music classes throughout the school day. While there is a strong focus on choral music, students also have opportunities to take voice lessons both during and after school.
Freshman Choir (Jr. Chorus)
Open to all freshmen (9th graders), this non-auditioned choir serves as the foundation of our program. Students focus on developing their individual voices, building musical literacy, and performing music in a variety of styles and languages. The ensemble performs five times per year and is co-directed by Mr. Gruttemeyer and Ms. Ramirez.
Mixed Chorus
Mixed Chorus is a non-auditioned ensemble for students in grades 10–12. This choir focuses on more advanced choral literature while continuing to build foundational skills. Mixed Chorus performs 6–7 times per year and is directed by Ms. Ramirez.
