Course Content:
Provides instruction to benefit the cadet, community, and nation.
Primary goal is to motivate young people to become better citizens.
Cadets study basic leadership values and theory, chain of command structure, drill and ceremony, first aid, drug awareness, conflict resolution, personal appearance, map reading, patriotic customs and traditions, development of a portfolio, introduction to financial planning, oral communication, introduction to service learning, and marksmanship safety.
Students will develop skills for small group presentations
Magnet focus: survey of national, organizational, and patriot music.
Each cadet will become proficient in each of the above areas.
Honors JROTC 1-2, LET-1

Perform two community service projects or two school projects
Students will present one period of instruction per quarter
Students will assume leadership position, such as platoon leader, commander, or staff member, and demonstrate skills and traits taught in leadership classes
JROTC 3-4/Basic Leadership Education and Training 2 (LET 2)

Course Content:
Continued studies in health, fitness, first aid, and map reading, financial planning, service learning, portfolio preparation, service learning, and marksmanship safety.
Students will study intermediate leadership theory, US Army history, intermediate oral communication, intermediate drill and ceremony, and basic organizational structures.
Assume basic leadership position such as a squad leader, and demonstrate skills and traits taught in leadership classes.
Encourage volunteer participation in activities.
Magnet Focus: students will research and use internet web sites for the Presidential Physical Fitness Program, and Diet and Nutrition from the USDA, to develop logs

Beginning Marksmanship

Course Content:
Complete Marksmanship safety pledge, and pass annual saftey test.
Learn and demonstrate the basic fundamentals of safety and marksmanship.
Study the history of the Army Marksmanship Team and Marksmanship as an Olympic Sport.
Focus on basic visual acuity, concentration, breath control, and muscle control.
Study and demonstrate the three firing positions, target scoring, and equipment maintenance.
Study the fundamental rules of the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Competition.
Students will develop the fundamentals of the three firing positions
Participation in pellet rifle three-position matches, marksmanship biathlon, and city pellet pistol league matches.
Advanced Marksmanship

Course Content:
Complete Marksmanship safety pledge, and pass annual saftey test.
Advanced training in marksmanship
Continued demonstration safety and marksmanship. Successfully pass the annual safety test.
Focus on self-discipline, responsibility, body control, mental concentration, and competitive spirit.
Students will develop the fundamentals of the three firing positions
Participation in pellet rifle three-position matches, marksmanship biathlon, and city pellet pistol league matches following the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) rules for competition.
JROTC Color Guard

Notes: Students will meet after school and other times
Course Content:
Learn basic and advanced drill movements.
Study the history of the precision drill, honor guards, and customs and traditions.
Develop self-discipline, teamwork, personal bearing, and pride in self and country.
Presentation of the National Colors throughout the school year at community and school events.
Advanced inspection procedures, precision and exhibition rifle team drill movements, saber team drill, and equipment maintenance.
Advanced study of leadership and vocal drill commands.
Participation in service learning project.
Varsity and Junior Varsity Teams are evaluated during the annual inspection and compete throughout second semester.
