Some advice for all students, especially for those of you who earned over 20 tardies first semester. You already know that warnings (or you could call them "free tardies") are built into our tardy system. We did this because we know occasionally you may be tardy when it wasn't really your fault, or there was a traffic jam in the hallway that doesn't normally happen, or some other reason like that. The key is "don't waste your tardies"... in other words, make it your goal this semester to only get a tardy slip when it's a TRUE emergency that caused it. Otherwise, if you just allow yourself to be tardy anytime you feel like it, you will easily accumulate enough tardies that you will end up with some pretty serious consequences this semester.
