Congratulations to the members of the South High School JROTC Color Guard and Drill Teams for their excellent performance at the North Central Air Force National Drill Meet at Bellevue West last Saturday. The Varsity Color Guard commanded by Eloy Gonzalez and members Kara Jenkins, Jared Woods, and Denny Trinidad earned 3rd place out of the 10 teams; Ezmi Barragan led the Precision Drill Team to a 3rd place finish out of 12 competing teams. The next JROTC competition is Tuesday 9 April, the JROTC Physical Fitness Challenge hosted at Benson.

Are you passionate about sustainability, fighting climate change, and connecting with peers? Please consider joining the Climate Change Council of the Omaha Students Union. This is a collation of youth fighting for our playing at the local level. We are looking for passionate, dedicated students to bring their ideas, opinions, and concerns. All high school students are welcome! Look for the fliers around school to find the contact phone number or visit us on social media!

The Counseling Department will be taking South's Students to UNL for a College Campus Visit and attend the "I'm First Symposium" (For 1st Generation students wanting to learn about attending UNL for College). If you would like to attend check your emails for more information. You will need to complete UNL's Online Registration as well as OPS Field Trip Form and return to Mrs. Branson in the Counseling Department. Don't be late, the first 50 students registered with returned permission forms will attend.

Sophomores- Check your emails. You can be recognized as Omaha South's Sophomore of the Year. If you think you got what it takes, please fill out the form in your Email. There will be ONE Winner! Nominations End on April 10th.

Juniors and Seniors if you are interested in attending Iowa Western Community College Campus Visit, check your emails for more information. Forms may also be found on Mr. Carlson's Door in the Counseling Department. The first 20 students with returned forms will be selected to attend.

As everyone has no doubt heard, thousands of Nebraskans have recently been affected by flooding, including South High students and staff. South High will be collecting donations to give to the United Way Flood Relief Fund. Both students and staff are encouraged to give what they can to help our follow Nebraskans. Mrs. Peterson and Mrs. Ratajski will be in the office before school each day this week collecting money, and donations can be given to Mr. Wilcox during the day. Let's show everyone that South High cares.

Attention Packers interested in Auditioning for the Luvabulls Dance Team: Please pick-up your tryout packet from Miss Taylor in Room 461.Tryouts begin Monday, March 25- Saturday March 30th. Are you interested in being a voice for South High? Do you want to give back to our community? How about plan homecoming and some awesome spirit weeks? Then you should apply to be a part of the South High Student Council! Applications are available outside room 330 in the FCS department. Please see Ms. KO or Ms. Policky with any questions.

Seniors! If you are interested in running for Prom Court, see your Senior English Teachers for the application. Applications will be due to Ms. Rangel by Monday, March 25 at 3:00.

Members of Packers Making a Change, please remember to turn in your field trip permission slip as soon as possible. If you do not have a slip, please pick one up in the counseling office.

Attention Ladies: If you are looking for a dress for prom, College of St. Mary will be here tomorrow 12-4 pm with dresses and accessories. If you’d like to come shop at their boutique, please see the nurse to sign up.

Attention Grassroots students: don't forget our GRASSROOTS graduation tomorrow at 6pm in the auditorium at the TAC building. Please see one of your sponsors to RSVP.

Today The L.O.V.E Project will start at 3:10. The L.O.V.E. Project is a club to help people who suffer from mental illnesses and for people who want to learn more about this issue. Questions, see 12th grader Ary Panduro or Mr. Bangert.
